A great way to improve not only the look of your space but also the air quality within your home is by embracing the trend of creating an indoor jungle with a collection of gorgeous house plants. There are so many options available, plus all of the cute pots and terrariums, but how can you decide what is right for you? Not all plants are the same – some require tons of love and care, while others are practically idiot-proof. Check out these six super cute plant babies to find out what works for that big open window, the top of your bookshelf, or the dark corner behind the couch where your cat likes to hang out…

1. Air Plants

What better cop-out is there than to have plants that don’t need any dirt? These cute little guys look awesome in a hanging terrarium or mounted on the wall. They still need to be watered, so be sure to give them a good soak once a week.

2. Aloe Vera

You might recognize the name from the bottle of green goo you put on after a sunburn because the leaves of this plant produce that very same gooey goodness. My aloe plant is so easy to take care of, I forgot I left it on the porch at my parents’ house when I moved out, and it lived for a whole year without any care before I came back for it. I probably wouldn’t recommend that, but aloe is quite hardy. Don’t keep one around if you have a pet or child who might take a bite out of the leaves because aloe has been known to be a tad toxic when consumed.

3. Areca Palm

Palms have been a huge trend this year, appearing on many printed towels and bathing suits. They give off an expensive, tropical vibe and make for a great statement piece in your decorating. You normally buy one of these pretty small, but be aware they can grow up to six or seven feet tall!
